My latest Lawfare piece is out!

I look at the recent #latombe case and the impact it will have on #EU / #US #dataprotection and #data #flows.

In Sept. the General Court of the EU rejected a case which sought to strike down the European Commission's approval of the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The dismissal leaves the DPF legally untested in Europe and vulnerable to political shifts in Washington, writes @iainnash.bsky.social.
The European Commission’s Rejection of Latombe
The rejection leaves the DPF politically fragile, legally untested at the Court of Justice, and vulnerable to shifts in Washington.

Hard to believe this is the final day of my two-week Maddock Research Fellowship in @marshslibrary.bsky.social. It's been an amazing 2 weeks, and fantastic to have the opportunity to consult so much material during my Fellowship.

Back to my old haunt while waiting for the Liverpool flight. Still find airports a good place to get some writing done!

Last month I spent an enjoyable morning in the 'real' Hollywood (Co. #Wicklow) talking with Deric from Ireland AM about the #history of St. Kevin's Way, which stretches from Hollywood Village to Glendalough, following in the footsteps of St. Kevin.

One of the more unusual things I've found when doing some work in the fields, I have to say. A Woody's alcoholic lemonade bottle!. It was described as "wickedly refreshing" when launched in to the Irish market nearly 30 years ago, in 1996!

These days, St. #Valentine gets overlooked on his day in favour of all things romantic. This post (and short blog post) is no exception (sorry(ish))!
