Raced in the heat this last Saturday at #CalicoRacing Running with the Devil with a time of 2:03:43 for a half-marathon in Lovell Canyon west of Las Vegas, Nevada. Calico Racing did a great job with water, ice buckets, and food. Here is a picture of me running that I didn't pay for!

Absolute travesty #AmeriCorps funding has seen cuts. As with so many other programs that have experienced "draconian funding cuts," this program benefits students so much. I spent two summers helping to map Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in AmeriCorps.

Had an absolute blast on March 1 at the Red Mountain "Dirty Hurty" Half Marathon, a 14-mile trail run in Ivins, Utah. Finished 11th overall and 1st in my age group. Highly recommend this one: beautiful course and well managed race. Marking my calendar to run the 30K in 2026.

Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents approved promotion & tenure for myself and 18 of my wonderful colleagues at Nevada State University, and many faculty from our institutions in Nevada. Effective July 1, I will be an Associate Professor of Geosciences at NS. Congratulations all!

Nevada State University undergraduate Mikayla Ward (`25) conducting HVSR passive seismology survey at base of Frenchman Mountain in Las Vegas Valley to map depth to fault. #MesaMarathon was a tale of two 1/2s for me. First 1/2 completed in ~1:46 and feeling good. Second 1/2 at mile 16, knee pain hits and I finish the whole thing in ~4:11. A wonderful feeling to finish marathon #5 and nothing but good things to say @MesaMarathon. A run well-done and Mesa AZ was awesome

Thanks #CalicoRacing for a beautiful Red Rock Canyon 2025 1/2-Marathon last weekend. Second time running this course. Clocked in at 1:49:45. An improvement of about 4 minutes from last year.
