I would be fine with a ranked choice primary. Another important reform, in my mind, would be fusion voting to encourage more party formation.

I think the opposite: We have three candidates vying for airtime in a cacophony of messages when the only question that really matters is whether we want more of the same leadership or a change.

I think we've completely lost the plot and many voters I'm talking to have no idea what's going on.

It also assumes the availability of helpful information, which I think disappears in RCV elections because candidates are often incentivized to minimize their differences.

So not only does it require more research, it also makes information less clear and helpful.

RCV is politics for late-capitalist consumers: The illusion of individual expression through voting when in reality, politics is about organized interests.

Current parties aren't great but they're important. RCV allows candidates to claim broad party affiliation without meaningful vetting.

Imagine you're at a restaurant with dog shit, maggots, and puke on the menu. Then imagine someone told you the answer is a better system of choosing between the three. That's RCV.

It obscures core contradictions, de-emphasizes parties, and turns elections to a mush of same-same talking points.

I did not lose the debate! I made the far more compelling points to which everyone responded, "bu- bu- my untested pre-conceived assumptions!"
