I recently joined a gym, and to my horror watched dudes go into the sauna straight from their workout, no shower or even a change of clothes. There’s not enough red cedar in the world to mask that funk. My wife saw and smelled the same. So, this isn’t just a guy thing.

I'm trying to help a high school teacher get an old Nikon E600 running for fluorescence imaging. Does anyone know if there are specs floating around for printing an adapter(s) that would allow it to take a standard LLG? She really wants to avoid having to go back to using Hg lamps.

This is what my brother was seeing as the comms director at the CDC until his resignation last week. It underlies the need for effective shadow agencies who can get real information to the public and a media willing to listen to them above the propaganda. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...
Opinion | When the government becomes a health misinformation superspreader
Until I left last week, I led the CDC’s public health messaging. Now we need something to replace it.

Today is the 23rd of January, and the temperature is 77F/25C with 9% humidity and a whiff of smoke in the air from local wildfires. We've had only 0.14"/3.5mm of rain since October. It's not great that the US government is now scrapping all efforts to prevent further climate change.

An easy 10k to wrap 2024, a year where I managed to do 5,10,and 15k road or trail races, plus a Ragnar Trail and 5 half marathons. Maybe I should start recording everything like @steveroyle.bsky.social so I can do better analyses.

This sums up my running at the moment. I run longer and do more running-specific exercise to maintain very mediocre times (barely sub 24 in the 5k and 2 hours in the half-marathon), but such is middle age. The only bright spot was this year's Ragnar loop times vs my post-COVID times last year.

I think it's informative to look at how well the GOP did to address the concerns of the working class by, *Checks notes* Oh yes, campaigning with the world's richest man whose avowed goal is doing away with every driving job in the world.
