I'll rephrase it to "good enough young defenders." Willie's threshold is, are you good enough on defense to not completely erase what you add on offense (or vice versa for Herb/Dyson/Peavy)? Trey and Jordan were targeted mercilessly on the defensive end. Jordan still is. Fears & Yves do enough.

I mean, he kind of is, outside of Trey's rookie season, and Jordan Hawkins (who has since proven him right). Good young defenders (Herb, Jose, Dyson, Yves, Fears, and now Queen) tend to earn minutes fast.

We're in a rare situation where maxing out the rookie minutes (including Peavy over the Jordans) would be a win-now move.

I think it could be both. Poole's at his worst when he decides he's the only hope on the floor on offense, and "what's the point" on defense. I think Herb & Trey hitting their shots might've prevented Poole from spiraling. But yeah, he's been TERRIBLE.

Also, if Tyler comes back from the bye and beats Atlanta in the Superdome...
