I'm so sick of hearing about how city people need to understand these simple country folk. Why expend limited resources campaigning out in Bumfuck Swampcrotch, Louisiana when you know those people are just vote against their own interests to have protection from the boogeyman.
The racism isn't universal and the people most afflicted with it live a long way from diverse communities. To "deal with it" means going to towns and neighborhoods that are out of the way and often far from any city. We can't even get Democratic candidates running for office to go to those places.

Never before has a country been so determined to committ suicide. In 2016 we chased a bottle of pills with 750 of vodka, but we were found in time, our stomach was pumped and we were revived. In 2024, we just said "fuck it." and put the gun in our mouth.

I'd like to think that's what will happen, but how is anyone ever going to trust us again. The days of being able to say "they don't hate us, they just don't like some of the things our government does." are over.
Better be safe than sorry. We will welcome you back with open arms once this mess is fixed.
