It's honestly probably best to just use the Switch 2 and PS5 for exclusives and stick to PC for everything else, but my love for the Switch 2's form factor, DLSS support, and the console sphere's wider support for physical games compared to PC kinda makes that whole thing a bit messy.

Is the Frame what they're calling the VR headset? Sorry I haven't looked much into that since I don't really have the space for VR, but that's very exciting to me!

People with like the RTX 4060, RX 6600, RX 7600, or maybe more powerful GPUs but with only 8GB of VRAM could probably get a lot of mileage from having a baseline machine to refer to when trying to get games to run well on their PC.

Something like that sounds so helpful because it'll basically encourage devs to create optimized settings for the Steam Machine, which people who have lower end GPUs with 8GB of VRAM can maybe look up online in order to get an baseline idea of what they can get their system to do.

I imagine the "Steam Machine Verified" label would function very similar to the "Steam Deck Verified" label where it's confirmed to work out of the box at the default settings.

So a Valve controller that kind of manages to combine the best of all these controllers for PC, like good battery life, trackpads, gyro, and buttons that match with the Xbox (and therefore will match most game's button prompts by default) sounds fucking killer. I wonder how the ergonomics are?

All of my controllers kind of have some problem with PC. My Xbox controller has stick drift and I can't replace it because of the boycott, my Dualsense controller has occasional connection issues and incorrect button prompts, and my Switch 2 Pro Controller doesn't work at all.

I only wish it had more VRAM because 8GB is really pushing it in some games now, even at 1080p with upscaling (especially if you're like me and really like high textures ans RT), but the GPU is comparable to an RX 7600 so it's not like it'll be a super huge bottleneck.

However, if I end up with an apartment in the future where my PC and consoles are in a space that's distinctly separate from the living room (probably an office or bedroom), the Steam Machine will go so damn hard as a kind of all-in-one living room gaming box.
