Read Sociopath, by Patric Gagne, for Monday Book Club (Women who Wine and Read) - I'm not sure of how truthful this is as a memoir, and it's an interesting tale whether truth or fiction, but I would hate to discover it to be like that one Oprah pick that turned out to be a pack of lies.

Went to the library and grabbed Thorn Hedge, by T. Kingfisher. That was the bandage I needed for my wounded sensibilities and disappointment. I love everything about that tale, characters, pacing, language, deeper examination of fairy tales. Really a top tier book for me.

Dropped everything to read The Rose Field, final book of the Philip Pullman Dust saga. I love his writing style and his imagination but I was supremely disappointed in this. Loose ends flapping in the wind, what felt like a sudden sprint to the finish, and an unexpected heavyhandedness. Then,
