Stars were falling across the sky myriad and random, speeding along brief vectors from their origins in night to their destinies in dust and nothingness.
I would wish that more people read, and that they then read more to understand what they were missing, but most people can barely read a tweet these days. This movie won't explain the direct real world parallels but some smart gen alpha kid may make it their whole personality, just strange times.

Just from the trailer I see mostly an update of the jarring dissonance between the work people are proclaiming to be doing for workers with what they're actually doing given a modern twist. This is an astonishingly strange book to adapt as a comedy though.

Net negative, because it would be the first time most people thought of Brianna Wu in like...a year? She's fading, let her.

We we also handing out gummy eels at the office, and we are really committing to the bit.

The exact same story, with pretty much the exact same art direction from the looks of it.

I keep eels every year to study their feeding habits and once I had a storm knock power out for days but even without the oxygen pumps running the eels just rise to the surface and oxygenate that way. Amazing creatures.

It's you or the cheese, locked in a battle of wills and fortitude. One must perish, while the other must learn to live with what it has done.

Even the war's we've lost lately have mostly been far more brutal to the "victor" than to our forces. We just have a very limited appetite for Americans dying overseas which is why we've invested so much in aerial strike capabilities.

The sad truth of the matter is that the US spends such a staggering amount more on its military than any other country that we, even being lead by an alcoholic former news anchor and trillion-dollar-autocorrect, are mostly constrained by public support more than anything.

I’m a lot more afraid that it isn’t progressing at the pace we were promised two years ago. I feel like the amount of money the us economy thinks these chat bots are worth is a bigger threat considering the research apple has published about how the models collapse at high complexity.

October 15th is the next military pay period and I suspect that will be a pressure point.

I have a panic attack in certain traffic conditions owing to being in two serious car accidents when I was a child 👍. There's nothing technically stopping me from driving, just concern for others.

I was lucky enough to spend a lot of my early adulthood in England, and get around on e-bike now.

This video is so dangerous, everyone knows you're not supposed to eat wild caught Pokemon rare because they're more susceptible to parasites.

Then factoring in that those datacenters are not distributed evenly in the US and you end up with certain US states carrying a heavy burden in this regard. All for fairly nebulous gains.
October 1, 2025 at 12:13 AM
And I would suggest the gap is only widening. I'm not at my work laptop anymore and don't have the same tabs open but from what I saw the amount of US datacenters was in the 500's and the next highest country (Germany iirc) was in the 50's. Datacenter build outs are buoying a lot of industry.

I notice whenever I see an AI booster do analysis of the energy use they always do % of global energy usage to diminish the % but the US has 10x the centers of the next country and you don't have to move far down the list before its 100x or even 1000x. These numbers make more sense.

Is there any indication that Sanford had combat related PTSD? He was deployed, but he was a mechanic.

Most comprehensive info on their service records I've seen here: taskandpurpose.com/news/marine-...
Service records released on two Marine veterans involved in weekend violence
The deadly shootings took place on Saturday and Sunday in Southport, North Carolina, and Grand Blanc, Michigan.

You really have to be closer to the city for Boston to get any points. I live in a town about an hour away from city center with commuter rail access and there is literally no bike infrastructure at all. I make it work but the place is clearly not designed for bikes to present.

That's a really cool compromise between having a rear seat and a rear cargo rack. Easily enough converted to cargo because of the frame. Way out of my budget but absolutely a dream bike.

My sister, who is a 40 year old Iowan and mother of three doesn't care for Trump much but loves Vance. She voted Trump, Trump, Trump 2016-2024 but got really into Buttigieg in 2020. His constituency is "centrists who barely pay attention". Once his real views get more exposure he's cooked.

Accelerationists have been around for a long time now obviously, but this particular brand is more motivated by a sense that they can't succeed in the current world order more than any particular issue. Most are probably suicidal to begin with, but think stirring the pot enough might change society
