Absolutely no one is going to get my Halloween costume (Medieval eel rent collector) so I had flyers made that I'm going to keep in a scroll holder. Inspired by @greenleejw.bsky.social and my own work in eel conservation. Also mostly just wanting to wear my ren faire costume again.

RIP to my mom who taught me how to make great Southern style cooking. Schnitzel with white gravy (loaded with jalapeno, pickles and green onion). It was breaded in a dehydrated stale baguette and crushed up corn flakes. Decadent food fully steeped in my whole life history.

There's this great blue heron that hangs out by my office most mornings and it is weirdly good at catching and eating outmigrating silver eels in early winter. I want to be mad at it, because it takes eels a long time to mature and their populations are struggling but that's nature I guess.
