Chuck Schumer should be removed as leader. He has failed the Democratic Party and acquiesced to the GOP and trump administration. Democrats need a leader that will fight for the American people. As for those other Democrats that voted for cloture; shame on you, you are now complicit in this attack.

In conclusion, the GOP could have stopped trumps devastating tariff war that will hurt millions of Americans in multiple ways, but chose loyalty to their ‘king’ over the American people

“Each day for the remainder of the first session of the 119th Congress shall not constitute a calendar day for purposes of section 202 of the National Emergencies Act with respect to a joint resolution terminating a national emergency declared by the President on February 1, 2025.”

That vote could have eliminated the tariffs under that act as Congress has the power to do so. However the lack of courage by the GOP to take a position with their vote prompted them to declare that a year essentially becomes a day to negate the 15 days. Their loyalty is not to their constituents…

Trump utilized the International Emergency Economic Powers Act in order to implement the tariffs. The National Emergencies Act outlines an expedited process for congressional action on repealing a national emergency if it is not acted on in 15 days. The Democrats moved so a vote could be taken….

I hope you read, really consider its implications, and share it widely.

"It is often said: When the government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. If that is true, then only weeks into Donald Trump’s four-year term, we are approaching tyranny."

Donald Trump nominated Pete Hegseth, Tulsi Gabbard and Kash Patel because he wants to show Republicans that he is the boss. That he can strip them of their dignity by making them support terrible nominees.

Senate Republicans may be in the majority, but Trump controls them. That is the story.

Martin Luther King Jr. said that “the ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge.” We are in a time of challenge.

The question for every leader, every citizen is where do you stand?

Please do not surrender to these people. Find ways in which to call these injustices out. Understand what this administration and its enablers are doing and shine a light on it. Democracy is always fragile and good people need make sure it does not disappear

trump does not believe in the rule of law or the justice system. He pardoned violent individuals who assaulted police officers in an attempt to overthrow the government. The GOP members of congress bear responsibility, your selfishness in putting yourself before your country is why he was reelected
