Perhaps my favorite DeadKirkMania artifact is this Commentary newsletter, in which Abe Greenwald effuses over him like he's a world-historical figure and also seems to be finding out exactly who he was as he's writing the fucking thing.

For this act, Jews, Christians, and Americans of all faiths owe him an incalculable debt. I don't care about the winding road he may have taken to get there. He began his public life at an extraordinarily young age. By the time of his assassination, Kirk was preserving the future of the country, steering it between the Scylla of left-wir radicalism and Charybdis of right-wing nihilism. I honestly had no idea how much good he was doing for the nation, and I wish I could have expressed my gratitude while he was alive.

When asked about the incident with Grambo, McLaughlin said that a "protester with a megaphone attempted to obstruct the arrest." However, a video of the incident captured by Grambo's wife, Mandy Grambo, appears to show that the couple arrived after Ramos-Delcid had been taken into custody. Agents do not appear to be restraining anyone and left shortly after interacting with the Grambos.

BTW it should be standard practice to accompany all DHS/ICE/Border Patrol claims carried in a news story with a disclaimer that they lie constantly.
From the story Federal agents said that Ramos-Delcid had open alcohol containers in his car as well as a child who "was not properly in a car seat," according to McLaughlin. He assaulted two officers when they attempted to arrest him, she added.

The South African government says it is investigating the circumstances around a flight that landed on Thursday at Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport carrying 153 Palestinians from Gaza. None had proper travel documentation, nor did they seem to know how they came to be in South Africa or how long they were planning to stay. Al Jazeera interviewed one of the people on that flight who described an organization called “Al-Majd Europe” that arranged the evacuation via Ramon Airport in the southern Israeli city of Eilat. The flight initially went to Kenya before continuing on to South Africa. The organization charged people between $1500 and $5000 to get them out of Gaza and seemed to be working in collaboration with Israeli authorities. As often as Israeli officials have talked about “voluntarily” depopulating Gaza it would not be at all surprising if they are trying to accomplish that aim—otherwise known as ethnic cleansing—through this somewhat clandestine, piecemeal process.

His proposed summit, he wrote, would include Kevin Spacey, Bill Clinton, Al Franken and Mr. Allen.

Cases in point:
The cache of emails includes exchanges about going to dinner at Rao's, the uptown Italian restaurant where it was famously hard to get a table, and an invitation for Mr. Epstein to the 25th anniversary party for The New York Observer (it was a weekly paper, printed on salmon-colored newsprint and read by the city's elite) at the Four Seasons restaurant (where the elite once power-lunched; it's now closed) co-hosted by Michael Bloomberg (he was the mayor) and Jared Kushner (who owned The Observer). The guest list included Matt Lauer and Harvey Weinstein. You've probably heard about what happened with them. Mr. Epstein wrote to one confidant: "so many guys caught in the me too reaching out to me asking when does the madness stop." To another, he wrote: "brett ratner now. Oy." Mr. Epstein was referring to the film director and producer, who had stepped away from a $450 million deal with Warner Bros. after The Los Angeles Times reported on allegations made against him by six women. Mr. Ratner has since resurfaced as the director of "Melania," a soon-to-be-released Amazon Prime documentary about Melania Trump, which the first lady is producing.

Democrats just lost a shutdown fight they tried to claim no responsibility for and, when lost, pivoted to Jeffrey Epstein with the help of the press. It turns out one of Epstein's major private boosters was the author Michael Wolff, who plotted against Donald Trump with Jeffrey Epstein. Michael Wolff, like Michael Avenatti before him, was a regular Brian Stelter guest on CNN. CNN and MSNBC have gone wall to wall with coverage of the new Epstein revelations, of which there is actually not much new information. They just hope to pin it all on Donald Trump.

Predictably, Rod Dreher, having professed shock at the groyper ascendancy in conservatism, is starting to soften up.
As you know, I believe Tucker Carlson ought not have platformed Fuentes, and if he felt he had to, then he should have put hard questions to him. Heritage’s Kevin Roberts should not have inserted the think tank into the controversy. But if you think these blunders mean that the Right should revert to the good old days of George W. Bush-style conservatism, then you are willing to surrender the future to the Left.
