The Coca-Cola Christmas ad, made with AI, used at least eight AI models known to be trained on copyrighted work without permission.
This is a huge middle finger to the artists whose work these models exploit, at scale, for huge commercial gain.

New AI copyright lawsuit just landed - Danish music rights org Koda sues Suno for what it calls “the biggest theft in music history”.
Danish rights holders, it seems - like many others around the world - have had enough.

A big tech lobbying group has asked Trump to issue an Executive Order telling the DOJ to intervene in AI copyright lawsuits in favor of AI companies.

In huge positive news, the Australian government just ruled out handing the work of their country’s creatives to AI companies for free 🙌
They resisted the well-funded tech lobby & shut down proposals to upend copyright law.
Other governments should do the same!

The UK government hasn't ruled out weakening copyright law in low-regulation zones to benefit AI companies.
They say they "intend" IP rights to be a red line for these zones. But they are "seeking views" on this.

💥 Independent musicians just filed another copyright lawsuit against AI music company Udio.
It's notable that, while Udio says its mission is "to empower artists of all kinds to create extraordinary music", many of those artists are suing them.

When you run a poll and find that the public is concerned about AI, it takes crazy levels of AI boosterism to conclude that the public is wrong and the govt must educate them.
Perhaps… the public is right.
Politicians should listen to the public, not the Larry Ellison-funded Tony Blair Institute.

- said AI companies will never compensate creatives

Why is this government so set on throwing creatives under the bus to benefit AI companies?

There’s the beginnings of a broad alliance taking shape - different groups, voicing different concerns about AI, but all aligned in a belief that AI companies must stop racing ahead and ignoring the harm they are causing.

I'm very grateful to be included in the TIME100 AI of 2025.
I want to give a shoutout to the many, many people fighting for AI companies to treat creators fairly. It makes a difference, and the public is with you.
Keep up the fight.

New research from Stanford shows that generative AI is already making it harder for young people to find jobs.
- In jobs with high exposure to automation by AI, early-career workers have experienced a 13% relative decline in employment. Jobs with lower exposure to automation are unaffected.

Huge amounts of money are being spent lobbying to deregulate AI.
This is because AI companies & VCs know the public overwhelmingly supports AI regulation.
Politicians must resist the money and side with the public.
