It's not my favourite Cronenberg by a long shot, but it's interesting to see his influences at this early stage. I think Barbara is also great in The Pit and the Pendulum!

Watched it earlier this year, it's great! I just watched Barbara in Shivers too, she's one of the best parts of that movie.

All of these are great but Books of Blood was the catalyst for me, showing me horror was bigger and more ambitious than I thought it could be.

I think I like it more every time I watch it. I recently rewatched McCabe & Mrs. Miller and Beatty and Christie are just really good together.
