Three years ago, on this day, I turned in the first draft manuscript of my book, BLACK CAESARS AND FOXY CLEOPATRAS: A HISTORY OF BLAXPLOITATION CINEMA. That feeling was almost as great as seeing the finished product in the wild for the first time.

@sjeffgreenstein.bsky.social that Brian May of the stereoscopic images is THE Brian May from Queen. Not only does he have a PhD in Astrophysics, he’s also a huge fan of/advocate for stereo photography. He’s done a bunch of books.

Extraordinary.
My goto is to ask LLMs how many states have R in their name. They always fail. GPT 5 included Indiana, Illinois, and Texas in its list. It then asked me if I wanted an alphabetical highlighted map. Sure, why not.

When I started out in journalism, I was a big believer in the liberal idea of progress. I thought things were getting better in the world - because they were. What I now recognise is that things get better because people work to improve them. Once that work stops, things get worse

Just so unbelievably cool. Deluxe edition of PSYCHO by Robert Bloch, on sale September 2nd. Yes that is a semi-transparent shower-curtain-esque acetate jacket, with debossing that mimics tile. Not visible, printed endpapers and "blood stained" edges.
