@dmercer.bsky.social I'm visiting NE Minneapolis and thought you'd like a glimpse of this turreted house at NE 18th Ave and Lincoln St NE. Stopped me in my tracks.

NGL, after Aquatennial this summer, I risked missing a bus home to get this photo. Every time I see the building, I see more photos waiting to happen.

From my dining room window not far from the Expressway in Chicago. I would have seen a lot less from street level, and with all the lights out, I didn’t have any reflections to deal with.

Nice! Our reds came and went, but I saw a lot less green. Some white. These are from my dining room window. I would have seen a lot less from street level around here.

When I was in Minneapolis this past summer, I really appreciated these stairs, for many reasons.

A white squirrel lives on Lowry St., just off Central Ave., in Minneapolis.

This reminds me so much of the Solidarity Cows, who I wish would make a comeback in these times.

@skribbler.bsky.social I caught this one hard at work

I was lucky to get a nice one here in Chicago a few days ago. It lasted a good long while, too.

I consider today’s #caturday photo to be a still life, because neither she nor the grasshopper moved for 15 minutes.

(Eventually it just leaped and fluttered away.)

Starting in March ’02 (I retired at the end of ’24), I worked in the 430 N. Michigan Ave. building that Bob Hartley ostensibly had his office in. Our last two CEOs decided to make very odd additions that were arguably monuments to themselves. Here’s how it looks now (photo taken in February).

Inspirational fish asks, “Am I being Raptured?”

“I can FEEL it! Take me NOW, lawd, TAKE me NOW!”

(I went to the aquarium a couple of days ago. It was fun.)

Timeline cleanse! An impossibly cute #squirrel noshes on a flake of bread that, sticking out of its mouth, looks just a bit like a tongue.

Thanks for the heads up. My friend and I were downtown and this was nice to see.

Yesterday a friend and I decided to visit a nearby suburb. I sneakily had the Lyft drop us off at a bookstore where I knew there was a kitten adoption event happening. My friend didn't adopt but, in the wake of that much cuteness, bought a toy stuffed chicken with googly eyes and a tiny carrot beak.
