I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Ben Lui is considered to be the finest peak in the Southern Highlands 🗻

I once took a photo of it rising majestically like a marble throne above arctic tundra 📸

From that moment I wanted climb it. But would it live up to the promise? 🙏

Beinn a’ Chochuill and Beinn Eunaich: fowling our way up the hooded peak
It was the fifth year in a row that Edita and I would be spending the Christmas period in Scotland trying to get up some hills, and our expectations weren’t high. Icy blizzards, deep snow, freezing…

Welcoming 2026 with quiet winter beauty and hopeful thoughts. Thinking of those facing war, illness, loneliness, or hardship. May this year bring kindness, healing, and positive change. Life is precious, and the world is beautiful. 🤍✨

Third magnificent day in the Scottish Highlands. Summited Ben Cruachan and Stob Diamh on an incredible circular ridge with 360° mountain views. Crisp winter conditions, firm ground, no bogs — pure bliss. The hills always have my heart.

Four Munros in two days… what a treat. 🥾☀️
Sunshine, calm winds, and cracking views atop Ben Lui & Beinn a’ Chleibh in the Scottish Highlands today.

Started with a barefoot icy river crossing 🥶—toes still in recovery mode. Worth it.

Back in Scotland at last 🤍 After a tough year working in Haiti, it feels so good to be here. Two Munros today — Beinn a’ Chochuill and Beinn Eunaich — with perfect winter conditions and a gorgeous forecast ahead. Very happy to be back in the hills 🏔️✨

The Dominican Republic has 5 mountain ranges, inc. the highest peak in the Caribbean 🇩🇴

I would never have travelled there had Edita not been working in Haiti, but I found a great destination for short multi-day treks 👣

But boy is it humid 😓

A mission to climb the highest mountains in the Caribbean
A few years ago, I wrote a blog post to explain that from that moment on I would aim to climb more obscure mountains that hardly anyone writes about. But how to decide which unusual peaks to climb?…

The whole of Europe is in the middle of a scorching heatwave. The thermometer has been touching 30°C 🌞

It seemed like a good time to go hill walking in the Lake District, where good weather seemed guaranteed for a change 👣

Or was it? 😮

Two days of non-stop rain have turned our garden into a lake! 🌊 It’s strangely beautiful, but also a little nerve-wracking… I’ve never seen the water this high before—hoping it doesn’t rise any more! 🌧️😅 #StormBert #Cotswolds #UKlife
