Hey, girl! We’re doing fine. How are you?

Looking to buy an etrike when I retire next year. My balance isn’t great, but a trike looks like fun and good exercise (saving the electric functions for when I’m tired).

Parenting? What’s wrong with this app, or my phone?

“Not just being flaky.” Jeez. We are not flaky people who make inappropriate demands.

Can we all agree that good old-fashioned customer service needs to come back. Amtrak isn’t for-profit, and they got it right. Marriott Bonvoy, do better. /end

Meanwhile, I called the hotel. Husband has been a Bonvoy member for 20 years. The customer service lady was sympathetic, but parenting accounting had to make the decision based on whether they could sell the room. I offered medical evidence or to waive HIPAA and let them talk to the hospital. /4

Thank you massive IV antibiotics and released me yesterday evening, but travel isn’t a good idea right now. This morning, I called @Amtrak hoping to at least get account credit for unused tickets. I offered medical evidence. They said that wasn’t necessary and refunded my card immediately. /3

So my husband @marylandrockets.bsky.social , who is a Bonvoy member, cancelled our hotel. Bonvoy charged him for one night ($$$$ Midtown) because we were less than 72 hours out. He used the app so there was no chance to explain we were just being flaky. They were able to stabilize me. /2

I came here to say this. Proud mother of an adopted immigrant who’s far more successful than other people’s birth children.

They may wear masks, but there will be employment records. And if those records are destroyed, there’ll be severe consequences. I know my federal records law.

I’ve been saying this for months.

I think if you run into an ICE raid, the most effective thing you can say is to them they won’t be able to escape the consequences of their actions someday. There will be payroll records. The fact that they wore masks won’t stop investigators from figuring out who they are.

We vacationed in your home town back in June. We enjoyed Second City, the White Sox, the Botanical Garden, the Art Institute, a riverboat tour, shopping on the Magnificent Mile, and delicious pizza. We felt perfectly safe, and we were impressed by how clean it was.

As a fellow Furman alumna, I find Allie Beth Stuckey to be an embarrassment to our fine institution.
