The story of two companies: We had plans to visit NYC this weekend and see a show. On Wednesday, I was hospitalized with a potentially life-threatening infection. (I have an artificial heart valve. Need I say more?) By late Wednesday night, it looked like I might need surgery. /1

I have insurance managed by United Healthcare. I get most of my care from John Hopkins. United and Hopkins are fighting because of the crap United is pulling about preauthorizations and denial of necessary medical care, and now they have terminated the network relationship. Gaaaa!

Can I protest the fact that @slowlorus’s account was suspended? He did nothing wrong. Bluesky, this is insane.

What I’d like to ask the person at United Health who denied pre-certification of my MRI even when I’m symptomatic and have met all the medical criteria for the test: How does it feel to be part of a system that obstructs your fellow Americans in getting the healthcare they need? @GEHA @UHC
