The ruling class cannot tolerate any threat to their control and ambition for more total control. They will weaponise anything and everything to neutralise opposition. They have real economic, political and media power - and it's transatlantic.
Be clear, the American far right are coming for British democracy.

Any action from the government? 10000 job losses not a major issue because....?
There have likely been 10,000 or more university redundancies in the academic year 2024-25.

@gsoh31.bsky.social, Professor of Modern and Contemporary History at Oxford Brookes, argues that the Higher Education system as we know it is coming to an end.
Where now for Britain’s Universities?
UK higher education now faces a very bleak future, retreating in the face of little public sympathy and limited political interest.

It's sad that for the first few lines, I didn't know if this was the USA or the UK. (Not the 'churches won't help' thing, I've no knowledge of that in the UK whatsoever). The poverty thing.
There’s a young southern woman on tt doing an experiment: calling churches & asking if they can help her get baby formula, saying she can’t afford it. Of the 30+ she’s called, nearly every church has said no. The ones who said yes were:

Black Baptist Churches
A Mosque

Vital piece of investigative reporting from Sky. They've uncovered the X algorithm which feeds users extremist right wing material from the moment they join the site. It is a far-right radicalisation engine, by design.

But is it a bold vision?
It still confuses me that a meeting about prospective redundancies is framed as an invitation to join the Vice Chancellor “as he shares his vision for the year ahead”.
