Eventually, I took care into my own hands. It's amazing how my transition took off once properly dosed and the peace I felt having agency over my own body. That fear of care being yoinked is continuous, in addition to gatekeeping, and no one should experience it.

4. Delay your treatment over and over to 'make sure it's right for you'.
5. 'Are you sure you weren't just abused or something? You don't seem fem/masc enough to be 'true trans'.
6.'Here's some medroxyprogesterone and 1mg oral E. Should be good and medroxy is totes fine and better than bioidentical'

1. Underdosing so you never have a complete physical transition
2. Real life test (used to require 2 years without HRT living as your gender to see if you could endure the pure harassment and bigotry)
3. Insane costs from continually increasing hurdles, which they'll revoke coverage for.

I had the gatekeeping experience as someone that transitioned over a decade ago. It literally hands control of your body's development entirely to someone who is often ignorant or at least subconsciously transphobic. Here's some fun features.

It blows my mind every day. I think a lot of it also has to do with preconceived notions almost everyone has from all the myths they've heard their entire life about trans people. They think they already know everything, so why listen
