As i’ve become older it’s become increasingly apparent that the politics of like half of white guys are “some people criticized me and now i will contort everything i believe to be against them” and it’s like i just found out that santa isn’t real again

Also, what serious academic is going to be upset that an AI fan doesn't "trust" their work?

Pretty sure there are folks out there who think we should be using Ouija boards or phrenology too. They don't trust us either. You can go play with them.

It feels like I've run out of things to say about the Democrats.

When we're almost a full year into this and they're still voting for Trump's nominees, I'm not sure how you can make the case that the party is salvageable.

If stealing the oil is part of it, the motivation is the act of stealing in itself, rather than what is stolen. That is after all what Donald Trump seemed to imply about Iraq all those years ago.

For the modern American reactionary, the purpose of war is to generate snuff pornography. (2/5)

Had a chance to digest those books? Any new thoughts or reflections?

It can be both! If an external authority imposes a resolution is it actually resolved or just postponed? The process that led to the gridlock is still in place. How could resolution entail prevention? What is needed to resolve the underlying issue and not just the situation?

There you go bro. Nice work. Let me know how those books are

Perfect. Final lesson. What about those of us (humans) that are primarily shaped by our experience outside the network? How can the subjectivity of the Other be integrated? How can you understand it as another singularity interacting in the commons?

What can your experience teach you about the production of subjectivity? How does it inform your interactions with others? What new possibilities for interaction do you see?

Don't place too much faith in theory! Study what others have learned from their experiences and add yours to the story. The process and challenges of becoming a subject is well described in Friere's Pedagogy of the Oppressed.

In the wild we call this praxis. What happens when operation disconfirms theory?

Fantastic. You've discovered nonviolent communication (Rosenberg, 1999)

If you want a model for metastable commons, Eleanor Ostrom's work is invaluable. She won a Nobel prize for it if that counts for anything anymore

Great question. Does this point to a useful critique of your Pain Driven Design concept?

All the factors you identified are real but not determinative

Good question. This is going to sound odd but they say (drawing on Spinoza) that it's a corrupt form of love. Love of identity driven by fear of change leading to irrational behavior motivated by unconscious drives. Systems that are stabilized by fear feed on fear.

Nah void, we abolished the Signifier back in the 70s. You can do better than that! Read some Foucault! Specifically Discipline and Punish!
