Since when does a sitting president call meetings with mayors-elect like this? I don't remember any president being at all interested in mayoral elections until this one.

I honestly think this is the best one. SO GOOD.

There were the common sense restrictions, which were fine, but some of the more outlandish shit--like boiling stuff that wasn't meant to be boiled--was really weird.

Oy... y'all didn't think an antibacterial wipe would've done the trick?

I can hear Hans Zimmer's score from "Backdraft" playing over this.

Seriously! I was at an It'Sugar in San Antonio two days ago, and that song starts up. I'm about to start the first verse when someone NOT Gotye starts singing something I don't know. WHY?!

"By being so loud, they say, I bring the transphobia on myself."

Jesus H. Christ.

These people almost get it. Seriously. They're millimeters from it. They just won't get there because they victim-blame and excuse bigotry.

Being there for your kid's birth (if you're not, y'know, deployed with the military, incapacitated, stuck in an airport, or dead) is expected of you. (Even more so if you're actually the one giving birth.) But you're not expected to be on a clock tower avoiding the cops. Infinitely more interesting.
