Artwork on this is delicious. So much attention to detail, lotta love poured into the small animations. Looking forward to getting stuck into this.

Im a broken record on this, but this is why I think the BAFTA game awards are much better in they do categorise like this, rather than splitting it up on quite granular genre lines.

Which director will be brave enough to film a modern day Cinerama film? None of them. And they’re all cowards for it.

I’m going to travel up to Bradford next September specifically for their Cinerama event and you cannot stop me.

Right there with you, friend. Plus I’m far too easily distracted, so it’s a good way to really lock in and engage with a film! PCC forever!

Also seeing such an ur-film like this, it’s like discovering a family tree for cinema and sci-fi at large. Sure there’s seeing the iconic scenes that have been homaged a thousand times, but it’s seeing the inspiration behind countless other artworks that hits the spot.

I read Clarke’s “novelisation” of 2001 earlier this year, so now having seen this, really feels like squaring the circle and understanding which parts were key elements for either him and Kubrick.

Also huge shout out to the @princecharlescinema.com staff member who kindly explained to me at the start of the movie that it’s the original Kubrick presentation and that the music playing while the curtains were closed was, in fact, intentional. That’ll teach me to read the listing more closely!
