Trump and his cronies have the BBC in their sights. Leaders can’t stay silent while one of our great institutions is attacked.

We must defend its independence, end political appointments, and remove Robbie Gibb from the Board.

The BBC isn't perfect, but it belongs to Britain not Trump.

Political leaders across the UK must unite in defending its independence from the White House.

I’ve written to Keir Starmer, Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage urging them to condemn Donald Trump’s attack on the BBC.

The BBC belongs to Britain, not Trump. We must defend it together.

It’s easy to see why Trump wants to destroy the world’s number one news source. We can’t let him.

The BBC belongs to all of us here in the UK.

The Prime Minister and leaders from across the political spectrum should be united in telling Trump to keep his hands off it.

I had my disagreements with the BBC under Tim Davie but he was a decent man doing a difficult job.

To see Trump's White House claiming credit for his downfall and attacking the BBC should worry us all.
November 9, 2025 at 8:00 PM
The irony meter just broke.

The BBC isn't perfect, but it's one of the few things standing between our British values and a Trump-style takeover of our politics.

On Remembrance Sunday, we come together to honour all who served our country and gave their lives for our freedoms. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We remember those who fell, and those who came home forever changed by their service.

Keir Starmer needs to wake up and fix our broken voting system before the next election, or he risks letting Nigel Farage into Number 10.

We will keep fighting for fair votes to make sure every voice is heard.

Hold on tight Devon — third Lib Dem win in Mel Stride’s seat, and we’re not stopping here. 🎢

Elon Musk is deliberately using his platform to poison our politics and divide our country.

It's time for the government to wake up to the threat he poses to our democracy.
November 6, 2025 at 12:38 PM
If this is what happens when Reform runs a council, just imagine Farage running the country.

Care homes closed and vulnerable people abandoned.

We cannot let Trump’s America become Farage’s Britain.
November 5, 2025 at 9:09 PM
It’s clear to anyone paying attention that Farage gets an easy ride from the media. They give him as much airtime as he wants but never hold him to account for the damage he’s done.

So much of what’s broken in Britain is thanks to Nigel Farage.

As MPs finally start debate on the Hillsborough Law, I want to pay tribute to the families and survivors of Hillsborough and so many other tragedies and scandals. This wouldn't be happening without their courage and tenacity.

Now let's make the law as strong as it can be.

Today my thoughts are with everyone affected by the dreadful attack near Huntingdon - the victims, their loved ones, and everyone who witnessed it. We're all hoping those injured make a full recovery.

Grateful to the passengers and emergency services who showed such bravery.

Tired of the same old scare campaigns? Choose hope this Halloween with the Lib Dems 🎃👻

Huge congrats to Rob Jetten, our D66 friends, and VVD in the Netherlands! 💛

Proof that hope, optimism and liberal values can beat the fear and division of the populist right.

Let’s do the same here in the UK and wipe the smile off Farage’s face at the local elections in May.
October 30, 2025 at 12:30 PM
We just stopped Nigel Farage’s plan to drag Britain out of the ECHR and tear up people’s rights. Farage wanted to scrap Churchill’s legacy and bring us closer to Trump's America.
October 29, 2025 at 6:36 PM
When you’ve protected British people’s rights from the authoritarian regime Nigel Farage craves.
October 29, 2025 at 5:13 PM
With an ally of Nigel Farage pleading guilty to taking bribes for making pro-Russian statements, it’s clear we need an in-depth investigation into Russian money in our politics.

Today I asked the Prime Minister whether he would back an investigation.

The reckless Netanyahu must stop these strikes - What happened to Trump’s peace?

They think it's Paul Kohler, it is now!

Had a brilliant time with @paulkohlersw19.bsky.social at AFC Wimbledon, a club that never gives up on and off the pitch and has shown great character fighting for the community.

Utterly shocking and unacceptable. He must be caught and deported at once.

Then we need a full public inquiry to find out how this happened and stop it ever happening again.

It’s time for Prince Andrew to come and explain his use of Royal Lodge at taxpayers’ expense.

I hope MPs from across the House join my campaign.
October 22, 2025 at 6:04 PM
The Tories can shout at me all they like, but the truth is their Brexit deal it is hurting our country and Labour won’t do anything about it.

Today I urged the Prime Minister to actually fix it.
