Watching the replies roll in on this one and… man.

X/MAGA is in a genuinely dark place right now.

ICE executed someone in the street outside the donut shop but it has not slowed down their active raids on homes and businesses in neighborhoods all around the cities so please be vigilant.
They are executing unarmed people in the streets for trying to protect their neighbors with the full support of the federal government.

Minneapolis police as an institution has a lot of legacy issues, no doubt.

But I gotta say, I’ve been impressed with how MPD has been trying to manage community safety amid all the chaos with ICE and federal agents in the city.

This moment has tested them in ways most departments never see.

Small, constructive note from someone involved.

Next time, let’s bring more American flags. That image lands harder and travels further.

Pretty sure no one wants masked government agents driving around their neighborhoods.

It really sucks.

Honestly, it’s a pretty good troll on Elon by the Trump administration that none of the ICE agents in Minnesota appear to be driving Teslas.

This is what happened in our neighborhood yesterday. ICE snatched a human being off of our streets, roughed them up badly, and then pepper sprayed legal observers as they documented it all. This is a daily occurrence happening all throughout Minnesota right now.

Two community members stand on the street corner of Central Ave and 18th St, watching over a local business in 5° temps with a wind chill of -15°. They are patrolling the area, keeping an eye out for ICE activity, doing what they can to protect their immigrant neighbors.

ICE in Minneapolis got me posting again. I swear i hate micro-blogging but here i am typing tiny messages into my phone.

Every time a headline hits, like a man detained in Minneapolis dying in a Texas DHS facility, you feel like you have to try to write something that actually matters.

First time I've seriously thought about unsubscribing
@nytimes.com.

This genre is exhausted. Cherry-picking a couple people in Nisswa and calling it insight. And honestly, as a Minneapolis resident and a Minnesotan, it's fucking offensive.

@mprnews.org and @startribune.com so much better.

So to keep people in the loop, one of the biggest school districts in the state is closed Tuesday and Wednesday because they need to give teachers time to build hybrid options for families worried about their children getting kidnapped on the way to school by lawless masked armed federal goons.

The January 23rd strike in Minneapolis needs to be called off. How is it supporting immigrants? How is it stopping ICE??

Time is better spent volunteering and supporting local charities, rather than pressuring businesses and pushing for a walkout on day when schools are closed.

Jobs i’d take over signing up to be an ICE Agent:
• subsistence farming in England, 1348, during bubonic plague
• working the Monongah No. 8 coal mine
• being a Facebook content moderator in 2014
• handling communications and public relations for Joffrey Baratheon

We need to get the good folks from twitter to bluesky. seriously.

bluesky has problems bc microblogging has problems and there are a lot of annoying people online. but the other site is so fucking problematic.

Just joined Bluesky. Unsure if this is a community, a holding pattern, or a thought experiment about attention. Apparently lists are how you exist here. I am open to being categorized.
