I am probably going to pick this up on EGS for no other reason than the controversy over it being banned on Steam. For $5 why not? Probably wouldn’t have even considered it without all this publicity.

Sushi Go and Flip 7 are good but probably couldn't include the 4 year old. Just One and Uno you could get the younger one involved with playing.

On further investigation she was quoting a Johnny Cash song to a dumb article about Johnny Cash. Seems ticky tacky for an outspoken critic of the government who is ignored by the media for the sin of being correct to early about the corruption of both parties.

Its a 3rd person action video game that is basically the Starship Troopers movie. You are a soldier on an alien world shooting bugs. The humans are also portrayed as goofy fascists. This code calls in an air strike to blow up your enemies.

We all laughed at the “conservatives upset about the left canceling Dr Suess” nonsense. That at least involved book publishers choosing to not publish some of his work. Now it’s streamlined to not require even a semi-legitimate straw man. A perpetual bullshit outrage machine for $$$

A lot of the stuff was published by the @sarahkendzior.bsky.social in her earlier books. And she predicted the same people who covered up these scandals would pretend outrage when they start gaining traction. Her predictions become more depressingly prescient with each passing year.

This sums up why I can’t watch the daily show anymore. I’m of a certain age to always have a soft spot for John Stewart. But it feels like more of a distraction and coping mechanism in place of doing anything.

This is an excellent book, I really like Erik Larson's style. I read 2 more books by him immediately after this one. Also further reinforced my desire to catapult Confederate fire eaters into the sun.

But what's the business model? These companies aren't making money. Just because you can light a bunch of money on fire and do a thing does that mean you can get a return on investment. At least without fleecing taxpayers by injecting it into government services.
