A name can become unpopular after a famous holder of that moniker becomes widely despised. Not that many Adolphs round these days. Maybe the name Donald will be considered a liability one day (apologies to anyone who has that name now. My Uncle Donald would have been sickened by the Orange Turd). 🙂
