Delighted to find, as a recent cat parent, that our cats are promising scientists. Here is Woody demonstrating that cats are non-Newtonian liquids… kind of.

He will write up his findings as soon as nap time is over. Maybe.

Parsing = 🎣data extraction + 🧹tidying + 🪡joining with metadata.

Why is this needed? Because plate readers export data in formats that cannot be used for programmatic data analysis before it is tidy and attached to useful metadata that describes the samples in each well.

A reminder: Parsley is software that parses data from plate readers, turning odd format Excel files into tidy data files compatible with all the programmatic software that have been developed for analysing plate reader data. (There are many!)

🌱Parsley News: Our plate reader data-tidying software has been updated! gbstan.shinyapps.io/parsleyapp/

🗞️Parsley now works with data from both Tecan Spark (w/ SparkControl) and Molecular Devices SpectraMax readers, which collectively export the most esoteric data formats I've seen.🧵
