French history hivemind: are there any good secondary sources IN ENGLISH about the earliest years of French colonization in Saint-Christophe, Guadeloupe, Martinique? (i.e. the 1620s and 1630s). Asking for an Americanist colleague. Everything I know is in French. Merci d'avance!

Day 98: Among the highlights of my day has been reading the fantastic new H-France forum on @ecrosshistory.bsky.social's "Company Politics: Commerce, Scandal, and French Visions of Indian Empire in the Revolutionary Era"! Bravo to Junko Takeda for bringing together this wonderful group of scholars 👏
