I mean does it help to put an actual human example of someone who relies completely on Medicaid funding in our state?? Where exactly does he go without his healthcare? Medicaid pays for Brandon’s ventilator, his nurses, his medications…so Michigan Republicans…what do you suggest we do?

This list is so long and taking up so much real estate in his speech it’s almost like they want to distract from their massive cuts to Medicaid

2.6 million families in michigan rely on medicaid. all but one house republican voted yes on this budget resolution to completely slash funding for america’s most vulnerable and support tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy. PAY ATTENTION.

1/10 I know I don’t have a ton of traction in this space, but I’m hoping to at least get Brandon’s story shared broadly as a case for Medicaid support. House republicans just introduced their budget resolution which includes an $880 billion cut to Medicaid funding. 🧵

On the very-clearly-a-N@$i salute, why no amount of calling it out is going to work, and what to do instead.

TLDR - you can’t shame the shameless but you can channel that anger into action

I have a loved one who is 39 years old, reliant on Medicaid to survive as a ventilator dependent quadriplegic. He lives independently and gets $1600/month from SSDI to pay for anything that is not covered by insurance, including rent, utilities, and necessary supplies. Every $ makes a difference…
Trump has rescinded Biden’s Executive Order 14087, “Lowering Prescription Drug Costs for Americans,” which included things like lowering state Medicaid costs for the most expensive therapeutics, reducing Medicare payments for proven drugs, and creating a flat, $2 Medicare copay for generic drugs
Trump’s initial orders reverse Biden on health care costs, protections from discrimination
Trump's executive orders took aim at Biden's priorities, from drug pricing to gender discrimination.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court announced it won't stop the TikTok ban from going into effect on Sunday.

This decision gives the executive branch unprecedented power to silence speech it doesn’t like. Our leaders must immediately repeal this dangerous law and defend our First Amendment rights.

The mainstream media may not discuss it, but here's the fact:

Three people —Musk, Bezos & Zuckerberg — now own more wealth than the bottom half of American society.

A handful of corporations control what is produced & the prices we pay.
