This Friday, join us for our October cleanup at Peace Memorial Park in Lloyd. We'll be picking up trash in the area and removing graffiti. A big focus of this cleanup will be site maintenance at the park, in particular raking up leaves along the bike and sidewalks in the park.

Join us for the Keaton Otis Memorial Art Parklet Unveiling tomorrow, Oct 1, between 5pm and 8pm.

Keaton was fatally shot by police in Lloyd in 2010. His father, Fred Johnson, and then members of Justice for Keaton Otis, have held a vigil on the 12th of each month at NE Halsey & NE 6th.

🏛️ As we promote civic engagement, we organized a Candidate Speed Event, giving our community a chance to meet and talk with candidates for Portland’s City Council. It was an empowering event for residents to share their voices and connect directly with future representatives.🙋

🌊 This summer, we teamed up with the Human Access Project for Duckworth Dock Wednesdays! Portlanders enjoyed community swims in the Willamette River, complete with sunset views. It was a beautiful way to enjoy our local environment together!

🍅 To promote access to healthy food, we distributed free container veggie gardens across Lloyd, helping residents grow fresh food right on their own balconies. This project sparked a lot of excitement and added a green touch to our urban environment.🥬

🌞 Over the last 6 months, we’ve been busy! Some highlights: During extreme heat waves this summer, we opened cooling spaces in the Lloyd Center to provide relief and a safe space for our community. These centers welcomed 371 guests and had great support from local volunteers!
