Squid can dispatch ink in two ways, in a big cloud like a smoke bomb, or in a tight little ball that they mix in with mucous to hold its shape. The mucous blob is called a pseudomorph they're typically the same size as the squid, to confuse predators.

Instead of a tongue, squid have radulae. A radula is basically a conveyor belt of tiny teeth that shred off flesh. Don't get licked by a squid.

Squid blood is blue! This is due to the oxygen binding protein that free-floats in squid blood called hemocyanin! The reason their blood is blue and ours is red is that our oxygen binding molecule has iron in it and theirs has copper. Iron (think rust) is red, copper is blue/green!
