Perfect summation of the Democratic comms issue, speaking as someone that works on how organizations position themselves outwardly. Clear unambiguous statement from @aoc.bsky.social. Long, general statement from @markwarner.bsky.social. I'm a fan of Warner (voted for him at one point!) but, yeah.

The most cringe part of Juneteenth yesterday was my boomer dad had to look it up to explain it to my 7 year old.

The best part was, he looked it up and unflinchingly explained it. A white military veteran. Of course he then went on to talk about military campaigns of the war & 7 walked away bored.

My 7 year old today:
"The best way to win rock paper scissors is with love <shows love sign>.

Because love always wins."

New Iran /Israel strategy recommendation (and everything else that ails us) guys, give it a go.

She went on to say that "black hole is also really good but not as good" 😂

As Patriots, we rose
Breaking free, fired by justice
On land stolen
A Nation, forged in strife,
at the sepulcher and birthplace of freedom.
We said– From many, one
But meant, From many, some.
By the sword we sought peace, but only under Liberty
Yet it was Liberty for the few, not all.

Well to do white women have managed (as we do) to weaponize the phrase 'gentle reminder' against each other. Can we just...not? Like do we not have bigger fish to fry than to jump on each other for perceived infractions of progressiveness?

I have a question about the SAVE act, and my question is this: Does it not impact the Republican base as much as or more than Democrats?

To be clear, I think it's terrible either way and in no way support it. I'm more curious for the stats on who it would impact wrt political affiliation.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt apparently told reporters: “Boys will be boys.” about Musk and Navarro.

Can I suggest Ms. Leavitt, our government should not be run by 'boys', but preferably grownups? I know a well-qualified woman. Perhaps they need a mother to set them straight?

Global recession...the sneaky way to fight climate change? Was Trump an environmentalist all along?

(To be clear, recognize there are real human impacts here)
How the Recession Accidentally Helped the Planet
Overall, the economic downturn led to more than 80% of the total reduction in carbon emissions between 2007 and 2009.

Moral absolutism is the bane of the left/progressives. Oh, Sen Cory Booker doesn't agree with EVERYTHING I say? His effort is useless. Oh, a major insurance leader just raised his voice about climate change ruining our economy? He didn't do it the 'right' way and he's an 'idiot'. And people wonder..

If you ever wonder why parents are so tired ...my Oura ring captures getting my kids out the door as exercise. That's how hard it is.

Say what you will about (property) insurance...but this is an industry that knows climate change is real because it's already hitting their bottom lines. You can remove the data all you want, we still know climate change is coming for us all. (General vibe at an insurance event I'm at)

My daughter (6), while listening to Mulan: "I'm glad people don't think women can't do things anymore like the old days".

I said, "unfortunately some people do still think that.

And she said "well, they're a raging dumb pants and I'm just going to ignore them.

So take that SecDef Hegseth.

Never considered myself a trendsetter, but I quit Twitter in 2018 and have disliked Musk since always, so feeling quite ahead of the curve for a change.

A few days ago, my Oura ring stopped syncing to my phone. I'm a fairly tech savvy person, so I did a good amount of troubleshooting. I restarted the app and the phone, forced a backup sync, reconnected the bluetooth, checked the cloud account etc...
