Some of you have asked why Spirited ended the way it did. The answer is, it wasn't meant to. The show was cancelled in its prime by a hateful man called Brian Walsh, despite being loved by millions. The third series was written and I was due to fly out to Oz when he pulled the plug. The prick. MK 💜

Season three started two years after the end of S2 and Suzy was married but could only think of Henry who disappeared from her life as quickly as he'd appeared. Meanwhile Henry had found a way to travel. I remember that now because Jacq said to me "Oh, the places we're going to take him!".

This is a beautiful song "sung" by me (spoken really) but written and composed by the incomparable Jed Kurzel who wrote all the original tracks for the show, including Wandsworth USA.
I love that but personally, a daily playing of Ballad is more my speed. That said, you definitely missed the boat on being a punk rocker. But this one gives me all the feels.

This is the genius behind all the original music in Spirited. Wandsworth USA, the ballad etc. He's off in Hollywood these days but I couldn't have played Henry without this guy and his incredible generosity and kindness teaching me to "sing" and writing everything from classic punk to ballads. MK 💜

No but I did get pneumonia and end up in hospital on an oxygen machine after dancing outside all night for three nights straight in Peckham (London) in the pissing rain in the middle of fucking November. True story. MK 🩵

A quarter of a century ago this year my missus and I nearly died in a car crash. Six weeks later I did this gig on national television in Australia. I was so medicated I have precisely no memories of this entire show. Afterwards I was back in bed for another month. MK 🩵
