Because Governor Kathy Hochul, caving to Trump, ordered her state environmental agency to ignore this science and, after it denied this pipeline permit three times, go ahead and just approve it anyway and screw the kids and pregnant mothers of Staten Island where buried toxic PCBs will be released.
A gas pipeline that would run off the coast of New York City is one step closer to being built. It would dredge up contaminants from the seabed and disturb marine habitats.
