Researching the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, as part of the wider history of sound design and electronic music for TV, film, and radio. I'll share info related to the Workshop and other electronic pioneers, highlighting releases of productions they worked on.
Oram had left the BBC by 62, and for this clip (from 7s in) Delia Derbyshire was asked to mime to the pre-recorded voice track, reconstructing the play's production process for viewers. At the mixing desk is a young Dick Mills, and at 0.55 the co-founder of the Workshop, Desmond Briscoe is pictured.
