In 1962 the BBC's World of Sound visited the Radiophonic Workshop, documenting their innovative techniques. The soundscape is from the 1957 experimental radio play Private Dreams and Public Nightmares (written by Frederick Bradnum, with electronic sound by Daphne Oram). youtu.be/tcNY5Dg7U6Y?...

Great example of an early radiophonic soundtrack, which seems to foreshadow Ron Grainer’s later collaboration with the BBC Radiophonic Workshop on "Giants of Steam" in 1963 and Daphne Oram’s work on Geoffrey Jones’s documentary film "Snow" in the same year.
