Suffice to say, yes, things can get built, but people don't want to have to do the hard work or play by the rules, because corporate Canada is incredibly lazy and entitled, and they don't think they should have to. But nobody wants to actually call that out.

So many pundits just take the word of proponents that it's "red tape" killing projects, and not what the red tape is really about. Or that they blame "regulatory burden" when instead the reality is that the oil price crash in 2014 killed the business model but they don't want to say it.
