been doing a coppola deep dive and like….is he the best to ever do it? even the flops and “disappointments” are secret masterpieces! YOUTH WITHOUT YOUTH, TWIXT and TETRO are all wonderful late work. now watching TUCKER: A MAN AND HIS DREAM and like, also kind of a masterpiece?

watching THE UNBEARABLE LIGHTNESS OF BEING and it’s crazy that they cut out the digressions (which were 60% of the text) and just made it a movie where everyone wants to fuck daniel day lewis. honestly relatable, movie kinda rocks

THE HURT LOCKER is kind of a masterpiece while also being evil. insane that the person who made STRANGE DAYS, one of the most politically interesting movies of the 90s, went on to make this + ZERO DARK THIRTY. really wish bigelow hadn’t won that oscar, so she could keep doing stripped action flicks.
