What a bummer. It could have been great.

In theory, this should have been a cool movie. Instead, it just kind of sucks. It's a film made by someone who doesn't really understand what life is like for the people it purports to represent, and lauded by Hollywood, which also don't understand what life is like for those people.

It fails as a musical. The songs are bad and a distraction. If you want to see a weird French musical, try Annette, by Leos Carax and with songs by the genius Mael brothers, aka Sparks. It's got a puppet as one of the main characters, and it won't make you cringe through 90 percent of it.

Now, the bad: pretty much everything else. Where do I start? I'm not in a position to say if this is an authentic Latin/Hispanic story, or an authentic trans story. I can say that I felt the heart of this film seems deeply inauthentic; all surface, no depth.

Why they thought anybody wanted MORE mirror universe content is beyond me.

And I say this as someone who truly loves the Robin Hood episode of TNG!

Maybe it'll be like The Olden Times in which it was fun to share your opinions online. Or maybe it won't. Let's see!

I think I'm gonna post one thing about a thing I liked (or didn't think) every day. I think it's mostly going to be TV, movies, music, comedy and books. Probably some restaurants now and again. Maybe a hike or two.
