Here's Vitello, from July, talking about 'conditioning' that resulted in velo and power jumps. It wouldn't surprise me if the Giants tried to get on board with this throughout the org.

(Aside: this passage makes him sound kind of Kapler-esque.)

Mm, perhaps. This app has it at 20%.

And 65% in that tough LCF Coors gap where there may have been a miscommunication between McCray and Gilbert
September 23, 2025 at 8:58 PM
Registers at 99% because StatCast doesn't factor in the wall, but this is likely not a catchable ball
September 23, 2025 at 8:58 PM
Further on Gilbert... his probability grid looks very strong. He's gotten basically everything that's catchable with a four exceptions. Two balls with a 5% catch probability. The others...

I know Verlander's pitched great down the stretch and it's been commendable, but if you're looking as to whether it will translate to more success in 2026, I'm not expecting it

Verlander's velo continues to drop

hey, that might be a cutter!

He gets the fastball where he needs to, but secondary feel has always been a bit of an issue for him. No different tonight

Giants positional team comparison by rWAR

They rank in the bottom-half of the league in production from: SP, C*, 1B, SS, LF, CF, RF, and DH

*Catcher rWAR doesn't factor in framing; they're 12th in catcher fWAR

Final update: Eldridge comes in right between the median and the average. A perfectly typical ascent for someone his age.

Every year the Dodgers have a new lefty you’ve heard of maybe once or twice and throws a fastball like this

Not ideal

Carson Seymour breaking ball heat map, 2024 AAA, 2025 AAA, and 2025 MLB

Not sure why they're having him try to zone it so hard at the MLB level. He can spot it away and get the occasional called strike, really shouldn't be the other way around.

Pretty much every report/quote given on the potential of Eldridge coming up in 2025, dating back to November, has been "probably not"

Since his 4-in-3 HR barrage earlier this month, Eldridge has struck out in 38% of PA

Walker gets the save situation, and converts, but it was not pretty.

The most 40-command you can have out of above-average walk and zone rates, as per usual
August 24, 2025 at 9:43 PM
Heliot Ramos has taken the most plate appearances for the Giants (562) for just a 0.8 fWAR.

Among the PA leaders for each team, there are only four players with an fWAR below 1.0; Ramos' fWAR/600 is the third-lowest of the group.
August 24, 2025 at 9:24 PM
Heliot Ramos is only ISOing .159 over his last 738 PA (since the 2024 ASG). The xSLG has been straddling the league average line for the majority of the season, and is 49th percentile on the whole.

Potentially of note: his bat speed has dipped from 75.2 MPH in 2024 to 73.8 MPH in 2025.

Birdsong's FB zone rate in ABQ tonight up to 49%, back to normal for him. Did a very good job at keeping it up in the zone as well.
