I am an evangelist for the Monday after Thanksgiving being the best day of the year to take off work. I usually use it for a relaxing day after holiday craziness but this year I got so much done! Ran errands, got book club secret Santa gifts at JoBeth, put up the pretty tree, ordered holiday cards

Reader, she did not. Although luckily the kids were engrossed in their own conversations at the time(s). She also talked about her various past lives, at least one of which apparently took place on an alien planet
Fingers crossed MIL waits until the second meeting to have conversations about talking with dead people 😅

We’re taking the kid and his girlfriend (who I have not yet officially met) to Thanksgiving-ish dinner with my MIL. This should be… interesting

Since it was only supposed to be me, my husband, and my mom for thanksgiving (my brother was a late add) we got an 8.5 lb turkey this year and it was so NICE not to have to manhandle 15+ lbs around the kitchen. It was a perfect size and also cooked so much faster. Highly recommend!

Today I peeled and sliced carrots for the carrot casserole and peeled and cubed potatoes for the mashed potatoes. Everything else will happen in the morning. Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

We’ve had guests staying with us (childhood friend’s sister+her wife) bc their mom has been in the hospital recovering from surgery.
Before leaving this morning they gave Amber a new toy. She refuses to let anyone NEAR it and is now sleeping with it. She will be so sad when they don’t come back 😢
