“Like a warm cup of cocoa on a cold day, sprinkled with a little chaos”
We went for a walk to the park today and while walking across the bridge Amber kept looking at her reflection in the water 😆

Every time I go to lunch w my team, I wish I could convey just how unhinged the experience is. I get that Gen Z humor is different but it’s far beyond that…. Every conversation goes completely off the rails within 30 seconds. Anyway this is one of my guys eating chips out of a soup bowl with a spoon

if we had a functioning society we wouldn’t need this patchwork of aid but here is a GoFundMe for a man who lived in a (now destroyed) RV on the property of one of the businesses the UPS plane struck. he also worked there so he is out of a job and a home (in addition to losing friends in the crash)
Donate to Help Rob Rebuild After Plane Crash, organized by Sam Aubrey

I met her when I was 4. While campaigning for governor she had driven across the low-water bridge a half mile from my house and promised constituents that if she became governor, she’d have it replaced. I met her when she flew in on a helicopter for the dedication after it was built.
Hard to overstate how insane this stat is:

Exit survey in 1983 showed most KY voters had personally met Collins.

“It was like in the ‘80s. I remember the pollsters being shocked by that, but it was because she was everywhere. Nobody could outwork her.”

Martha Layne Collins, KY’s first woman governor & Toyota dealmaker, dies at 88
One of Collins’ biggest achievements in office was luring a Toyota plant to Georgetown, a move that created thousands of jobs in the region.

This is lovely. 🧵
I've been thinking a lot about the city during, and after, a blizzard. We get one or two a year during normal years, and I've been thinking about how we check up on each other.

You okay? Did you get back all right? Need anything?

I've been thinking about the neighbors who don't know each other.
