Energy Crashes: Feeling sluggish, tired, or irritable after a sugar high, followed by an energy crash, is a common sign of sugar addiction.

Does any of this sound familiar?

I had them all

Frequent Cravings: Constantly craving sugary foods or drinks, even after meals, is a strong indicator of sugar addiction.

I was in my mid 20s!

Now, in my mid 40s, and living a sugar free life, I have a MILLION times more energy than I did in my youth

Crazy, right?

Such simple signs that I thought were perfectly normal but really aren't.

As soon as I mastered living a low sugar life these signs all disappeared, and despite being 10 years older I rarely take a daytime nap, I simply don't need it.

Do any of these red flags affect you?

3. You feel tired/sluggish after a meal or need a mid morning/mid afternoon pick me up. I can't actually remember a time between the ages of 20 and 35 when I wasn't tired mid afternoon, and if I wasn't at work or out and about I often had a nap which could last up to 3 hours.

2. You crave something sweet after a meal. I actually NEVER ate a meal without eating something sweet afterwards. It was unheard of!

1. You keep going back for more sweet food, despite having had some already. I did this all the time! One biscuit was never enough, one slice of cake was just the start and I always bought the extra large, two finger Twix!

5: Have you booked your workouts for the week ahead?

6: Can you use a journal to chart your feelings and thoughts at the start and end of the day.

Hopefully some of these prompts will help get you back on track and feel as though you're leading from the front

3: How are you feeling today, did you get a good night's sleep? Do you need to get to bed a bit earlier tonight?

4: Is your home and workspace clean and tidy? It really helps prevent overwhelm and a chaotic mind when your space is uncluttered.

1: Drink 2/3 litres of water - take your water bottle with you

2: Have you planned and prepped your food for the day - three healthy meals, good quality protein with plenty of veggies. What are you having for breakfast this week - are you a breakfast person?
