There are different things that you need to know if your income level is ~$10K a year, ~$100K a year, ~$1M a year, ~$10M a year, ~$100M a year, and $1B a year.

Financial literacy for someone that makes ~$10K a year, is: "How to apply for SNAP," and "What time do the buses stop running?"

This was the year that we were buying skis instead of renting them and going from a Summit season pass to trying Stevens and Crystal and welp, it looks like I'm gonna end up saving money.

This isn't a post about that dude in Maine with the tat, but it reminded me of my own history with a dude with a tat that was by all accounts, super racist.

He drives 25 mins each way every Sunday for our families to hang out. My trans son trusts Uncle J probably more than any other adult. Uncle J is their safe adult and I value their relationship as much as my own with J. He is as great an ally as anyone could hope for.

I still can't believe they allowed him to stay. It was an act of generosity and humanity that stunned me and I've never forgotten.

The soldier in question is my best and oldest friend. My kids call him Uncle. My wife adores him. He was my best man. We vacation together.
