Data is needed for broad action sometimes, numbers could help encourage governmental regulation (one would hope) and help push for self-imposed regulation. Empirical data is harder to dismiss.

Well. Glad I switched to Vivaldi a while back.

I think this is the right video (I watched it so long ago, too tired to confirm) but you may find this interesting! It made me rethink (or, really, just understand the appeal of) dark romance. Iirc they talk about the potential for power fantasies, which is a fresh take.

It's saying that only Harris was born in the USA- it's just the term used. The point of acknowledging this is that the Trump admin has been very hostile towards any sort of immigration (well, towards any sort of immigrants they dislike). It's ironic due to his own personal connections to immigrants.

It's lovely! Makes me want to try making one too :D

Very cool flag/banner/quilt in the back! Did you make it yourself?

*identifying as traditional republicans 💀

I apologize if I'm misunderstanding you: this chart isn't depicting support for Trump, it's showing how the Republican population describes themselves. It shows that less are considering themselves maga, making that line go down, and more are dentifying as trad. republicans, making that line go up

The idea that there couldn't have been one (1) female warrior when we *know* of women in the recent past going so far as to pretend to be men in order to fight. *Today* we are surprised by incredibly queer-friendly small towns. It's a disservice to our ancestors to flatten their humanity like we do.

My biggest gripe with interpretations of past cultures is that, generally, people cannot seem to accept that the humans so long ago were in fact, humans like us... not a monolith or magically bound to the social rules and roles we assume of them.

It's very much a situation of trying to make something what it's not. It's never going to be the other thing, so just appreciate it for what it is.

One of my classrooms in highschool was on the top floor, small and narrow. It had one door set in a completely glass wall- which opened out. The closets had mesh cutouts to see in through. My teacher completely covered the glass with paper, but anytime it came up the stress was palpable.

Seconded, please just leave books to be reshelved by staff.

You can also check a book out just to read it at the library! Not every system will count books left on tables, so checking it out is a good way to ensure your reading is counted!

I'm worried that if people keep talking like it's not here yet and just around the corner, that will become a reason to not try to fix anything after he's gone.

To be fair to them, Apple has always known how to come out on top. Not surprised they're going full tilt in the opposite direction of AI advertising.

^ I personally grumble over proofreading now. Never had an issue doing it before grammarly and the google doc/word spelling and grammar suggestions. Now it feels like it's too much effort, which is honestly embarrassing.

People become complicit and suddenly doing things themselves are too hard or intimidating or they can't do them as well anymore (because they've been relearning a new was to accomplish whatever goal)

There were certainly at least a few neo-Nazis involved in the actual event (like, the sort that belonged to named organizations).

That's according to phillyantifa.org's work on recording known neo-Nazis, and photo comparisons. I apologize for the highlighting, it's just what I have saved from then.

Tbh, I didn't catch that the discussion was specifically about agitators. Thought it was just about if any money was used to bring in the crowd, in general.

Also, did not find the clip I was talking about - likely something I pieced together from everything I remember seeing that day.

I remember hearing about this at the time. I don't believe there's been anything directly proving that travel and board were paid for, but this article about funding could suggest it. It could be a false memory, but I'll look for a news clip I saw about it tomorrow.

New evidence unsealed of how Trump's Jan. 6, 2021 rally was funded
A trove of evidence released in Trump's election interference case shows an organization paid for Jan. 6 rally attendees' transportation.

There's a few people in the replies talking about playing music in their cars: CDs are rippable with Windows Media Player and other apps, and you can also buy a lot of digital files directly! I do both. If you're really committed, you can self host with a program like jellyfin and stream!

I read the whole essay that TPUSA posted, and I honestly can't believe she let it be publicly shared. I was writing better papers in middle school.
