I apologize. What I was trying, and completely failed, to communicate was that I'd rather death machine operators incur *some* cost to themselves for bad behavior (often hit and runs around here) as opposed to this setup, which seems like an invitation to an early death.

We learned that those big tubes don't get used. So I filled them with straws and got lots of takers. Then had to build a box with hardware cloth on one side to keep unknown varmints - most likely mice - from pulling out the tubes and snacking on bee pupae.

Wish I'd kept track of when this section of sidewalk first closed. Pretty sure it's been years. Wish I was kidding. South side of Market, just west of the circle, Indy.

Walking north along Pennsylvania in downtown Indy. What street crosses Penn just in front of me? No identifying signage for northbound peds. Signage is reserved for southbounders, because that's the direction of motor vehicles.
