I used to skim right by unfamiliar words, figured I'd get the gist by context. Now I just grab my phone. Or if I'm reading an ebook just click on the word

When we lost Sally, I would sit with Aubrey on my lap and a book, and I'd stream a video of cats on the big teevee. Extra bonus if the cats were playing/purring!
It was comforting for Aubrey.
