AOC: We need to be talking about ICE agents and the cowardly policy of covering their faces — and, in many cases, their identification… The idea that we’re going to allow a paramilitary force to bloom, one that isn’t accountable to the Constitution… we’ve got another thing coming.

The GOP "Big Beautiful" budget achieved its goal: tax breaks for billionaires like Elon Musk. How did they afford it? By slashing benefits, gutting social programs, and raising taxes on the working class. Call (202) 224-3121 to tell your Rep this bill is bullshit.

chose a name that recalls the legacy of Pope Leo XIII, whose writings in support of workers’ rights & human dignity earned him a reputation as the father of Catholic Social Teaching. That choice seems to be a deliberate signal of solidarity with working class & poor,

Opinion | Pope Leo speaks English. That’s bad news for JD Vance.
The language barrier has helped maintain an air of unreality around the papacy in the U.S. That is about to change.

Organisations that hold to their values and stand up, get rewarded

Costco's results in the last 3 months compared to Target is very illustrative of this fact
Target, boycotted for withdrawing its DEI support, continues losing customers & sales

Costco publicly affirmed their support for DEI in January & is now enjoying record sales

Costco's share price just hit a new record high

#DEI is good for employees, for customers, for business & shareholders
Target suffers 10th consecutive week of foot traffic declines, sinking stock prices since caving on DEI
Costco, which resisted pressure to ditch DEI, extends foot-traffic gains streak to 15.

This professor studies dictatorships. He helped convince Harvard to stand up to Trump
Harvard professor Steve Levitsky has spent decades studying democracies and how they fail. He's now raising alarm bells over what he sees as a slide toward autocracy under President Trump.

SULLIVAN: “I do not care about the economy if the government claims it can break down anyone's doors, seize anyone with no due process, put them on a plane, and send them to a foreign jail… that is fundamental to this country.” 🇺🇸

Blaming others and not accepting responsibility for your own actions is an act of cowardice, not courage.

In an Geraldo Rivera interview, who knows Musk very well, said all these workers are being fired to make room for bringing in robots. Musk can of course have a government contract to provide robots. In July I was told by a person in the tech world that AI and robots would be everywhere in 3-4yrs.

In future generations, when your children and grandchildren look back on this moment, they are not going to ask about the price of eggs. They are going to ask you what you did. Not what you felt. Not what you paid. But what you did. And I want to be able to say I did everything I possibly could.

Now that medicare is on the chopping block I wonder how many people know that medicare is not free healthcare. Every senior on medicare pays for it monthly out of their social security check. If medicare is cut then I want my monthly payment cut too.

"If women remember that once upon a time we sang with the tongues of seals and flew with the wings of swans, that we forged our own paths through the dark forest while creating a community of its many inhabitants, then we will rise up rooted, like trees". And women will save the world. ~S. Blackie

I love that a woman prosecutor in the NY Justice department was the first person to stand up to T. And she's a young woman with her whole career ahead of her. She refused to break the law. And 6 more prosecutors behind her did the same. And all those old men sit in congress quiet.
